The emitter of S1 manufactured by Cree, a US-based LED manufacturing company. Cree is a well-regarded LED manufacturer known for its high-quality products and innovation in the lighting industry. Color temperature is a characteristic of light. It is measured in units called Kelvin (K) and is used to quantify the color appearance of light sources, particularly white light. The S1 has an orange peel (OP) textured reflector. Orange peel reflectors have smoother beams.

This flashlight has an AR coated lens. This Anti-Reflective coating is a thin optical coating applied to the surface of the lens to minimize reflections and improve light transmission. The S1 has mechanical switch. Mechanical switches are known for their durability and reliability. They are typically built with robust construction, making them resistant to wear and tear, and capable of enduring various environmental conditions. The S1 uses a reear switch. Rear switches are commonly found on tactical flashlights designed for law enforcement, military, and self-defense purposes. The rear switch allows for quick and easy momentary activation or constant-on activation, enabling rapid response and tactical maneuvering.

Performance

Flux1600 lm
Intensity8500 cd
Throw184 m
CD/LM factor5.31

With 1600 lm, the S1 flashlight will offer a brighter and more powerful beam of light. This higher output can be advantageous in various situations where you require enhanced visibility or need to illuminate larger areas. With 8500 cd, the S1 flashlight provides a noticeably brighter and more intense beam of light. It can illuminate objects or areas with greater clarity and visibility, even at longer distances.

The throw is the calculated distance in meters at which the flashlight produces a light intensity of 0.25 lux. The cd/lm factor (candela-to-lumen ratio) provides information about how concentrated or focused the light output of a light source is. A higher cd/lm ratio indicates that the light is more concentrated in a specific direction, while a lower ratio indicates a more diffused or spread-out light output.

Modes on a flashlight refer to different output settings or levels of brightness that can be selected to suit different needs and preferences. The S1 has mode memory. Mode memory means that the flashlight will remember the mode you were using when the light was last turned off, and when you turn it on again. The S1 is tactical strobe ready. The strobe light is disorienting to the person it is aimed at which makes it difficult for them to concentrate.
